Jarboe is a multi-disciplinary artist celebrated for her haunting vocal stylings, transcendent compositions, and unyielding commitment to artistic exploration. Renowned for her pivotal role in the experimental rock band Swans, Jarboe’s career spans four decades, marked by groundbreaking solo and collaborative works that continually push artistic boundaries. Beyond music, her creative endeavors encompass visual art, literature, and voice acting, positioning her as a rare and ever-evolving force in the arts.

Jarboe’s origins trace back to the underground cassette culture of the 1980s. Her 1984 release, Walls, was a visceral foray into the emerging Power Electronics genre. Its brutal soundscapes, hand-painted packaging, and cryptic lyrics set the tone for a career defined by artistic ingenuity. Jarboe’s solo endeavors reveal her boundless artistic scope. Albums like Sacrificial Cake (1995) explore themes of spirituality, identity, and physicality. Her 2000 album Disburden Disciple, partly recorded in Israel, combines deeply personal storytelling with experimental soundscapes. The album’s meditative coda, “Pure War,” incorporates field recordings from Jerusalem, Bethlehem, and Ramallah, capturing the tension and beauty of these locations.

Thor Harris is a Texas-born musician, multi-instrumentalist, artist, and craftsman, renowned for his versatility and distinctive contributions to a wide array of musical projects. He was the percussionist for Swans (2010–2016). He has performed with Shearwater (2001–2010), Bill Callahan, The Angels of Light, Lisa Germano, Yonatan Gat, Gretchen Phillips, Devendra Banhart, Rebecca Cannon, Xiu Xiu, Flock of Dimes & Amanda Palmer, Whalesong, and the Grand Theft Orchestra. Harris, among other artists, has contributed to Jarboe's upcoming new album, to be released in late Winter 2026 via Belgian cult imprint Consouling Sounds.

Joy Von Spain is a vocalist, keyboardist, and modern classical composer from Seattle, Washington, who also works as an artist coach. She is known for collaborations, such as with Masaki Satsu in the duo 100 Pieces, and with the Butoh collective Danse Perdue.
